monday moments of gratitude

I'm so happy you're here!!

I'm making a point to post on Mondays about moments I am grateful for in the past week. We can all use a little more intentional thinking about things we're grateful for. With that said, I hope you'll continue to join me in gratitude on Mondays :)

See previous Monday moments of gratitude posts HERE.

Here are a few moments from this past week that I am grateful for:

Impromptu date night - what's better than a planned date night? An unexpected one!!! Grandpa was staying the night so when it was suggested that Mr. B and I go out after the kids go to bed we jumped at the chance. I didn't get the obligatory 'date-night selfie' but I did take a shot of our yummy apps and wine (obviously date night needed wine). This was needed and awesome. Thanks dad!

Mini-me and grandpa day - mini-me and her grandpa had their first big adventure. They headed off to Toronto (about an hour away) to see Disney on Ice. Despite my mom anxiety and them showing up at the wrong venue only to have to cab to the right one, arriving 3 minutes before showtime, it was a pretty awesome day for mini-me (and grandpa). I'm so proud of this kid and so grateful for the relationship she has with her grandpa.

Grocery shopping with both kiddos - you're thinking "what? this is a gratitude post, I must have read that wrong". Nope. Here's the thing: I dread leaving the house with both kids. It's a bit of work to get them out of the house and then having them both behave, well that's nearly miraculous. Mr. B worked on Saturday and we pretty much had run out of everything so I had no choice, I needed to go. They weren't angels, but they were pretty freaking good. Plus, it was Oliver's first time in a shopping cart so I couldn't help but smile as he marveled at just about everything (in the pic below he's captivated by the shiny lights - that's my boy!).

My mover and shaker - this little dude went from kinda crawling to bustin' it all over the house. He's into EVERYthing and giving me heart palpitations multiple times a day. To say he's keeping me on my toes would be putting it VERY lightly but holy heck one look at this little monkey and I'm mush. I know I am biased, but come on, look at those baby blues and those chubby little cheeks.

Dinner with the girls - Saturday night I went out for dinner with some of my besties. We all have busy lives and we don't see each other as often as we'd like but it's always fun when we do. Even though our conversations have changed significantly over the years from boy-drama to breastfeeding and baby poop, I treasure out time together and hope we can do it more often.

Blog brainstorming - to say I have been struggling with the blog lately would be an understatement. I'm so thankful to have such amazing blog buddies who keep me motivated and encourage me. I'm grateful for a spur of the moment hangout with some of my favs (DeenaLanaAbbie and Sarah). Also, Abbie (hilariously brilliant over @ Grumbling Grace) and I are teaming up for a really fun collaboration coming soon (more details to come but prepare to spare some time on Saturday morning for reading!)

Sibling love - these two kids are just some kind of wonderful with each other (most of the time). Sure, I know there are days ahead where I'll be pulling them off of each other hitting and screaming, but right now they can't get enough of each other. Mini-me is all about kissing and snuggling her little bro (so long as he's not playing with something she wants) and he looks at her with such adoration.

I'm confident I say this every week, but I am loving these posts. It's the perfect way to reset my frame of mind heading into a new week. No, I'm still not a ray of sunshine all of the time, but I am having a much easier time finding the joy in moments that I might not have normally. I am happier.

I'm challenging you, whether you write a post and linkup or not, to take 10 minutes, even 5 and reflect upon the previous week. Go through the pics on your phone. Remember the moments that made you smile, even the unexpected ones. Take the time to delight in the week that was and to take notice of the beautiful ones that this coming week has to offer.
