I'm so happy you're here!!

I'm making a point to post on Mondays about moments I am grateful for in the past week. We can all use a little more intentional thinking about things we're grateful for. With that said, I hope you'll continue to join me in gratitude on Mondays :)

Here are a few moments from this past week that I am grateful for:

Afternoon surprises. Mr. B has been working A LOT lately. On a typical night he gets home around 6 but he's had to work a few nights and weekends lately. It was an awesome surprise when I pulled in the driveway Tuesday afternoon at 4pm and saw his truck! We actually got to eat dinner together as a family, have some play time in the toy room and story time in mini-me's bed. Plus, he bathed the kiddos and helped with bedtime. Ah-mazing!

Bad haircuts. I may or may not have given Oliver a Lloyd Christmas 'do (yes, I'm making Dumb and Dumber references... it's either that or one of the Three Stooges). The old me would have been devastated about this, but honestly, I couldn't stop laughing (sorry Ollie). He's obviously still super cute and it'll grow out, but in the meantime, I get a little giggle every time I see him. Whoopsie!

The arrival of a baby and the celebration of another on the way. My brother David and his wife, Johanna, welcomed their son to the world on February 28th! The same day we had a baby shower for my brother James' wife, Michelle (she's due in April with a little girl). An exciting time for our family!

The Blended Blog hangout. I've mentioned that I'm a contributor over at The Blended Blog a few times. Well, the other contributors are some pretty awesome women and we managed to get a few of us together Saturday night for a google hangout. It was almost like we were all sitting together in the same room. Best part about google hangout? You can have wine a beverage of your choice AND no bra required - don't pretend you don't feel me on that one. Heads-up: if you follow the second part, ensure camera is pointed upwards... just sayin'... don't want things to get awkward.

Ice-storm aftermath. I don't get to enjoy nature as much as I'd like to so as I drove home from a playdate Friday afternoon I was able to revel in the beauty that a recent ice storm had left. The sun was shining so bright that it had melted the snow off of all of the ice that coated the trees. It was too cold for the ice to completely melt so what was left was ice on all of the branches that sparkled like diamonds in the glistening sun. It was absolutely breathtaking. I mean, who doesn't like sparkles? Also miraculous was my sleeping toddler in the backseat!

Sibling-love. I spend a lot of the time saying things like "watch out for your brother" "no pulling hair Oliver" or "be nice to your brother" (and yes, I know this is just the beginning and I haven't seen anything yet). It's so nice when they have cute sibling moments. Actually, it melts my heart how absolutely taken these two are with each other most of the time. If Oliver drops his sippy cup, Annabelle immediately jumps off her chair to get it for him. The way Oliver looks at her, stares with such concentration, I can already tell he admires and loves her quite unlike anyone else.

tell me this doesn't melt your heart?!

If you're not already following me on Instagram - what are you waiting for? You'll see sneak pics of most of my 'moments' and then some... and don't tell me you are sad you weren't one of the first to see little man's haircut!
