what I wore - denim vest

Wednesday, June 10, 2015

I bought this vest last spring/summer and I recall being very unsure about the purchase. It didn't help that the first time I wore it Mr. B commented that I looked like I just stepped out of the 80's. Despite my initial hesitation and the 80's vibe, I'm still loving my denim vest - giant belly and all!

There are tons of ways to wear a denim vest without looking too 80's. Throw on with a maxi dress for some added style (and warmth), over a t-shirt and paired with colored (or white) pants or shorts, with a cute patterned dress or with palazzo pants (or 'soft pants') and a plain tank.

Check out this post to see how I previously styled the denim vest.

Now, some shopping options:

Shopping tip: go for a smaller size, I've never actually buttoned up my vest and found going for a smaller size looked better and less boxy. You may need to try a few on before finding one that is most flattering (i.e. accentuates your waist).

Is the denim vest a yest or no for your summer wardrobe?? What's your favorite way to style it?

  5. Yep I totally love my denim vest, I had the exact hesitation as you did and now I wear it all the time! My favourite way to wear it is over a maxi dress because it adds a bit of an edgy vibe and dresses down the look since I'm usually more casual. I love how you styled yours and you are looking amazing!!
